Big Helper

The Martin's or Michael specifically are taking on the next renovation in our house. Ripping out the shower. YUK!!! This old, outdated, leaking mess of a shower was demolished this weekend so that a new non leaking pretty shower can take it's place.

Most of the process was done while Will and I spent the weekend with Grammy and Pappa because of the mold and mildew issue under the shower floor; neither of us needed to be near that.

But after the health concerns were resolved, Will and I came back home to....well, help Dad out with the final clean up before new board and tile went back into place.

Will loves helping anytime he can use the hammer! He worked this pony wall over for quite some time while Michael took down sheetrock.

Hammering in misc. nails that were sticking out of the wall. Occasionally going after the marble on the tub deck. But it came down shortly after so no harm done there.

Watching and laughing at Dad when he'd make a funny sound saying "HAHAHA, Daddy Funny" then going back at his wall w/the hammer.

And when all the work was done and it was time to clean up the mess, our little helper got busy sweeping the room in all the wrong directions. Now when he walks into our bathroom he yells in a very sturn voice "DADDY, HOUSE, FIX IT!!!" Mommy agrees w/ that notion, I can't wait for a new shower to be installed. I'll post the final product when it's complete....
A little video of Will laughing....

BIIIIIIIIGGGGG.......

BROTHER!!!!!
In late April/early May this Biiiggg Boy who likes to fix EVERYTHING is going to welcome a baby brother or sister (we don't know yet) into his home. Michael and I are beyond excited to have another baby and for Will to be a big brother. Looks like the Martin's will have a new little blessing to blog about.

"Daddy..Move 4 Weewer"

Playing with Taroline!

Will had his buddy Caroline over Sunday evening.

They had soooo much fun playing in Will's Birthday tent....

Climbing thru the tunnel, then posing for a picture....

Cuddling on the pillows.....

Then climbing over each other to get where they wanted to go. This actually did not turn out so well, as you can see, Caroline was ready to take Will out!
All evening Will would run around yelling "Taroline!!" During the adults dinner, the kids lounged on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse. It was so quiet in the living room we'd keep creeping in there to check on them. Then when the even cooled off, we played outside before Miss Caroline had to go home. Shame on me for not having my camera out there; they were so fun to watch. Caroline road Will's new four wheeler that he won't touch! She'd push the pedal then put her hands to her face and say "WOOOOWWW!" It was the perfect ending to a nice weekend.

Driving the 4 wheeler

Will's Birthday present from Michael & I this year was this rocking awesome 4 Wheeler.

Will however wants no part of riding this cool machine, instead he's decided to push the foot pedal w/ his hand and yell "WOW" everytime it moves.

He drives it quite well this way and gives us some entertainment in the process.

Here he is showing his maneuvering skills. (see mom, you don't have to ride it!!)

And he's off...Cruising thru the yard!

Maybe someday he'll hop on this bad boy and tear up some ground, but for now, we are pleased that he's even touching it. Last week, he yelled "NO 4 WEEWER" when he saw it. On his own time he'll find the level of awesomeness there is in riding this mean machine, but it HAS TO BE ON HIS TIME! Will has a mind of his own for sure; Michael swears he's taking after me....I'm sure he's right!
P.S. I got my flip camera out just in time for Will to be done driving, video footage would have been awesome. Love how fast kids change their direction.

Playing at the park

Will and I got up at 7:00 Sunday morning, had breakfast and headed to the park to enjoy a morning of outdoor playing before it got up to 105 degrees.

As I'm sure most of you feel this way, I'm so sick of this heat. It takes getting up that early to give Will playtime outside. Of course he always gets up that early on the weekends....and has to be woken up on the weekdays, but that's not important.

What is important is that he got to go go go until he was ready to go.
And being this early, there wasn't anyone there, so he had the entire area to himself.

Guess being an early riser has its perks! We'll do this again next weekend and the next until this heat subsides and lets us play outside whenever we want.

Happy Birthday Will

Will turned 2 years old today. WOW!!!

He got to celebrate last night at Bouncin Craze.

I think all the kiddos had sooo much fun. I know Will did & he's not quite caught up on sleep from the big night.

Reese & Harrison came to play. And Harrison didn't let size matter, no boucner was too big for this kid!

The parents got wayy into the fun games. Aunt Trac & I took each other on on the obstacle course and we were tied up to the slide where she barrelled head over heels down to take the lead w/ her hair flying. I can say I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. Took awhile to catch my breath!

Will enjoyed some basketball.

Evan got to come too, though he just hung out, but his Mommy enjoyed playing on the bouncers.

See, this kid can do anything his sister can do. No big Deal!

The party really got started when Kellen got there. Will & Kellen (pink shirt) go to school together and play all day so Will knew it was go time when he showed up!

I don't see much baby left in him, he's grown so much.

He wasn't into photo op moments, too busy playing.

Will didn't take interest in opening presents at first, but all his buddies did so he was all about it shortly after some time w/ Mike.

Lots of books, trucks, a camo tent & more awesome toys are flooding our house.

Will got some great Mickey Mouse gift sacks. Loves carrying those around.

He got a motorcross motorcycle that was a big hit w/ the boys. This one came out of the package right after we unwrapped it. His pal Zane (on the right) gave it to him.

Grammy found a Mickey Mouse card that plays the Hot Dog song, Will really like that!

Reese & Mallory were such big helpers w/ opening presents.

Caroline & Her Daddy were chowing down on cookies. YUM!

Then to end the gigantic night of fun, we hopped the kids up on cake then sent them on their way. All the craziness from the bouncing room hopefully had them exhausted enough that the sugar didn't matter. It was a fun night with fun friends. And my big man is officially a 2 year old. Happy Birthday Bear, I love watching you grow.

Vacation Week

This is a little belated, but thought I'd put our vacation week pics up.

Will, Michael, Duke & I spent a few days last month at the lake house to rest and relax. Of course with Will & Duke on the prowl the only relaxation time we got was nap time but we took advantage when we could.

We were constantly on the go all other times.

Playing in the sand & water.

Running up and down the steps....

A boy & his dog on an adventure....

Scoping out unknown land.....

Throwing gravel in Grammy's Flower beds!

Not sure what they are doing here!?!

More digging in the sand....
We had a great couple of days, but had to cut our trip short because Will got sick. We spent the rest of our vacation at home w/ a very sick little boy who come to find out had tonsillitis & pnuemonia. So our week off turned into almost 2 weeks off THEN Michael got sick sooo our next week was spent getting him better. I'm the only one in the house that hasn't been on antibiotics this month and that includes Duke. Needless to say, we are grateful July is over, everyone is healthy in our house again and now we are preparing for most exciting of days coming..... Will's turning 2 friday! I'll say it forever, but I can't believe his birthday is already here. Fun times ahead!
