Father's Day Weekend

Dad's first Father's Day.... Will is feeling better, but has a nasty cough that kept him up a lot during the night and distrupted his naps, so poor guy was pretty cranky. Mom has what I assume to be laryngistis (that's how Word told me to spell it...) and is now voiceless; I spent the better part of the weekend exhausted and weak, but of course, kept going, because that's what moms do when their little man is on the go. And by on the go, I mean we never stopped; dad, mom....chasing the bear! He's a busy, busy man!

Friday, we decided to get the pool mat out to play, but that didn't last long, because dad came home and wanted to swim too, so we went to Grammy and Grandpa's. It was determined this weekend that Father's Day is the whole weekend, not just one Day, so it started Friday w/ Daddy pool time!

Doesn't he look like he's modeling here? He's showing Aunt Traci his cool bathing suit she brought him back from Maui...and posing for the camera!
(demonstrating the right way to get back down!)
Will is fearless, as all babies are; he now thinks he can stand and let go of things without falling. Of course, his little legs aren't quite strong enough for that, so in one weekend we pulled a chair on top of ourself (wooden chair, not the bar stool), bruising the right side of our face, then fell into Aunt Traci's chair at dinner and bruised the left side of his face. What really ripped my heart out was, I was right there, w/in a foot of him, w/ both instances and wasn't able to catch him. Case in point, I guess that's why we just did swim lessons; you can be right there and still accidents happen.

Here is Will's greatest Dad in the world! They had a great Father's Day weekend together; swimming, playing, swimming, playing, (you get the point) they didn't stop! We've used the pool more in the first weeks of this summer, than I think we have in 5 years. Having a baby is so much fun!

Annnndddd, this is how I felt this weekend! Will wasn't using his frozen teether, so I decided it would feel nice on the eyes....and it did!

Rough Week

We've had a doozie of a week. Will got pink eye from a kid at school; on top of this summer cold nonsense that's been going around. So we've been home since wednesday trying to clear that all up. And, to make matters worse; I caught the cold nonsense from Will so that's been a good time trying to care for him when I can barely move myself! There should be a mommy law that states: "Mom's don't get sick...Ever!" We have to always be on our game and well...that leaves little time to get sick.

Fortunately dad has been a huge help; helping me take care of Will, then taking care of me. None of us have gotten much sleep in the past 3 days, I'm praying for a good nights sleep for ALL of us this weekend.

Weekend w/ Friends

Will and Allison hit it off instantly!

We went swimming thursday; here's a little game of baby bumper boats. (Thanks Allison for trading rafts w/ Will, the lily pad looks a lot better on you)

We took our first trip to the zoo! HOT!!! Don't the kids look excited???

Will stayed alert and looked at some of the animals.

Allison did not!

Will showed Allison around the neighborhood in his wagon while Allison work on convincing her parents it's time for her own wagon. No really the dads just came up with all the cool uses this wagon will have when the kids go trick or treating and want to walk instead of ride. I believe a mobile ice chest and candy holder is what they decided will be it's best use.

They got into everything they could possibly find.

BUSTED!!!!

Then when the sad time came for them to head home, Allison raided her moms purse to steal the keys in hopes of a little more time.

While Will tried to attack me! These kids and their motives! Well, needless to say, they did have to go home and we were sad to see them leave. Come see us again soon Allison!!!

Busy Days

It's tough being a baby I've decided, all the intense playing and activities they have to take part in all day, it's no wonder by night time they pass out!
The new discoveries awaiting around each turn, or in this case under the high chair.

Then realizing mom's at it again with the picture snapping and Speedy Gonzalez crawling over to get me!

At school Will practices his artful skill each week bringing home some beautiful masterpieces for me to plaster to the fridge. I see some talent here; don't you???

So by the time he gets his bottle; if he makes it all the way thru it, he turns into a blob and passes out in your arms. Of course who can resist getting to snuggle with that each evening before bedtime?

Grace & Will's Lake Trip

Grace's first trip to the lake! Aunt Wendy, Uncle Corry and Grace went to the lake with us this weekend.

It was pretty windy, but we did get to play on the beach for a little bit.

Grace got to try out her new suit....that her mom thought would last all summer! It's already snug on her little belly. She's a fillin out I tell ya!

Will went on his first safari across the sand to explore the wall of rocks!

It was a great weekend!

Swim Video

Here is the swim video. I gave up on trying to get it to download onto the blog, it's too big! It's a bit pixelly and no sound, but it's the best I can figure out to do.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iik10K9RE94

As Michael said, we really don't give infants enough credit, it's amazing what they can learn so young. I am so grateful we did this, though it was very hard to watch at times and I constantly worried about ear infections, I am relieved to know he'll be capable of saving himself if he fell into water. We'd do it again in a second....which we will in a couple of years with the next baby.

Standing Up

Will's newest discover!!!

I am in the process of TRYING to get the video to download from his swim lesson, he passed yesterday! Woo Hoo....

Splish! Splash!

I haven't posted more of Will's swim class, too many people told me it was too hard to watch, which I completely understand; watching someone dunk your baby isn't high on my list of fun times, but he's doing well and will be finished this week, so I'll post his final class...probably the hardest one to watch, I'll admit. But you can see what he's learned.

This post, however, is happy times in the pool! We went to Grammy and Grandpa's to swim Sunday and Will had so much fun.

Splashing is of course his favorite thing to do!

Then we hung out in this contraption, great baby invention, I'll say!

He had so much fun kicking and playing with his toys. I see a lot of pool time in our near future!
